Not sure what to say?

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved ones today and always. Words cannot express the deep sorrow we feel for your loss.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Alan was such a kind, friendly soul.

My condolences to the entire Nieschwietz family. I did not know Alan personally, but my sister was his friend and classmate. Mrs. Nieschwietz, you were one of the best teachers I had in elementary school. My prayers are with you and your family. May God grant you the peace and strength to get through this difficult time.

My prayers are with you, Nancy and John.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

I've known Alan for over 40 years. As a friend and classmate he was a kind soul; always had something funny to say to make everyone who heard laugh. I've had some time to talk to Alan a lot more recently, and so glad to have known him, but I'm so saddened to know he's gone. My condolences to all his family and friends. I will surely miss him.

Thoughts and prayers.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Rest well my friend. God grant us a friendship to be part of his plan.

Alan was my student at Mary Hoge Junior High in Weslaco during my first years of teaching. I have fond memories of him. May he RIP.

Alan's Obituary

Alan Brant Nieschwietz passed away on June 5, 2020 at the age of 48. He was born on October 8, 1971 to John F. and Nancy Nieschwietz.

Alan was born in McAllen, Texas on October 8, 1971. He lived in Weslaco and attended Weslaco schools, graduating with honors from Weslaco High School on June 1, 1990. As a youth he was very active in 4=H in several areas, winning the High-Point Award in a rifle competition, and won several awards in cooking. In high school he was very active in FFA, ROTC, and Drama Club. While still in High School he joined the Army Reserves as the youngest Valley recruit. His training was at Fort Polk, Louisiana.  During this period he drove a truck for a couple of years on a route from New York to California. He then attended college and received a degree in History and English, after which he taught those subjects for a couple of years. His first love, however, was writing and he was a newspaper reporter in both Brenham and Clute (Texas) for many years.

He joined the Weslaco Elks Lodge in 2003 and was very active there working on committees and doing fundraising. He later transferred his membership to the Brenham and Clute Lodges as he worked in those cities.

He moved to the family ranch in 2017 to help run the ranch. Another lifetime dream was to work on the ranch and become a rancher/cowboy, like both of his grandfathers.

He was taking a special interest in upgrading the ranch Beefmaster cattle herd, finding and buying an excellent bull.

After he moved to the ranch he became very interested in Cast Iron Cooking, developing several specialties and techniques.

Alan took special pride later in his life in allowing his hair to grow long and then cutting it and donating it to kids who had lost theirs to cancer treatment.

Alan is survived by his parents; brothers, John Nieschwietz III, Christopher Ryan Nieschwietz and niece, Callie Michelle Nieschwietz.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Peters Funeral Home from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. Graveside Services will be held at the Encinal Cemetery on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 10:30a.m.
