I first met Alan at United Technologies in 1979 when my best friend who was his secretary introduced us. Over the years we stayed in touch but became better friends after we both left the company. Alan became a part of over family about 20 years ago and attended many family dinners and gatherings. I appreciated his kindness and thoughtfulness during the time that my best friend had cancer and passed away. He also has been thoughtful as I faced the challenges of caring for my parents...

Alan was a dear friend. We met when we both worked at UTC in the foothills outside Coyote Valley. When I moved to Gilroy I was pleasantly surprised to see that he had moved down here too! We were good friends and visited back and forth between our homes. He always sent me beautiful flowers each year on my birthday and Valentines day. For many years, we attended the Renaissance Faire where he looked forward to seeing his favorite character, a jester called Mooney. We met for many happy...

Alan was a kind, loyal, and generous friend for over 40 years. He never forgot a birthday or Christmas and always appreciated a short note or quick call to check in. We will miss so many things about Alan: his detailed stories with precise dates and locations, his love for demonstrating and explaining new gadgets, and especially his joy when seeing us, even unexpectedly in the grocery store. Alan truly was a good guy. It hurts that he’s gone.
