Alba Elena Silman AispuroNovember 17, 1957 – August 3, 2025
Alba Elena Silman Aispuro, 67, peacefully passed away on August 3, 2025, in Mount Vernon, Washington, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on November 17, 1957, in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico, the third of ten children. Alba was the daughter of José Antonio Silman Osuna and María Francisca Aispuro Angulo. She grew up in a close-knit family and carried with her the values of love, service, and perseverance throughout her life.
From a young age, Alba was drawn to the medical field. She began volunteering with the Red Cross in Culiacán, where her brother worked as a paramedic. It was there she gained invaluable experience, compassion, and a deep sense of purpose. She went on to pursue her medical education at La Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa, earning her doctorate and receiving her title as a general surgeon in 1985 — a tremendous achievement she carried with pride.
In 1986, Alba immigrated to Washington State, where she fell in love with its natural beauty and continued to explore it whenever she could. Though she arrived in a new country, she brought with her an unwavering commitment to healthcare and a desire to help others. She continued to work in the medical field and remained passionate about lifelong learning, caregiving, and serving her community.
Alba is survived by her beloved daughter Ashley and her son-in-law Robert, who live in Mount Vernon, Washington. Alba and Ashley shared an unbreakable bond — one of deep love, friendship, and mutual admiration — that lasted until the very last moment of her life.
She is also survived by her brothers Rubén, Edgar, Juan, and Mario; her sisters Hilda and Maggie; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Her family was her greatest joy, and she remained a constant source of support, strength, and affection to each of them.
Alba had a warm and joyful spirit. She loved chickens, was an incredible cook, and never lost the childlike wonder that made her such a delight to be around. She was a natural storyteller — always eager to share her experiences and knowledge with anyone willing to learn. Her kindness, humility, and vibrant personality touched everyone she met.
Above all, she was an extraordinary mother and a truly kind-hearted person. Her presence made people feel safe, heard, and loved. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she impacted, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 12:00 PM at one of Alba’s favorite places in Washington — Deception Pass. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering her beautiful life surrounded by the nature she so deeply cherished.
