I just want to say that Albert was a big guy with a big heart. It’s true he loved to tell jokes and so did I. The times we shared with Albert and Yolanda were memorable and fun. He was a great friend and he will be sorely missed. Albert was not only a great mechanic but also a caring person that found the time to help you and your family. Rest In Peace my friend. Your soulful journey has begun. Your friend always Martin.

There are no words can captivate the sorrow I feel for the loss of Albert. My mind travels to the memories of being that young boy playing in the backyard with all the dogs. The cars in the back yard including that classic red mustang with the vertical gauge shifter. The time when I helped my dad pour that concert in the backyard with the all the cement truck lined up in the back. The time when when Albert was doing a suspension job and I was his assistant and telling me ,” Mijo stay back...

Albert Medelez Sr., born February 13, 1945, in San Antonio, Texas went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2024, at the age of 79.
Born and raised in San Antonio, TX. Albert was an auto mechanic by trade. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family which he loved and cared for dearly. Even though he worked long hours he always made sure to enjoy time with his family. His wife, children, and grandchildren always came first.
Passionate about cars, especially hot rods, he built several over the years. The most memorable was the one he built for his wife Yolanda a 1965 Chevy Chevelle Super Sport. He loved to showcase his Chevelle at car shows with his car club Alamo City Rods.
A dog lover, throughout his life Albert cared for numerous dogs. There was never a time without dogs around the house. Too many to note, but he joins them in heaven. Canela, his beloved companion, joins us in mourning his loss.
He was a selfless man with an enormous heart, generous spirit and wonderful sense of humor. He took pride in the many accomplishments of his family and never missed an opportunity to share. Willing to give all that he could, he was always there when you needed him most. Always had a new joke to share, even if he had already told you, many times before. A friend to all, he easily made friends everywhere he went.
Albert brought so much care, love, and happiness to our lives, for this, his family and all who knew him are eternally blessed.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Yolanda K. Medelez; daughters, Mary Alice Avilez, Aurora Marie Cervera and husband Michael, and Lorraine Medelez; son, John Albert Medelez and wife Martha; sister, Yolanda Gonzalez and husband Jose; grandchildren, Matthew, Jordan, Eric, Andrew, Anthony, Jessica, Stephanie, Alyssa, Lauren, Ramiro, Isabella, Bianca, Edward, Nicholas, Elijah, Rodolfo, and Fabian; great grandchildren, Joshua, Ryann, Sophie, Bodhi, Kaia, Vera, and Selah; numerous extended family and friends. His presence in our lives will be dearly missed.
