Albert V. Pennucci of Somerville, MA passed away surrounded by family on March 26, 2025. He was 82 years of age.
Albert was born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 13, 1942 the son of the late Michael and Alice (Murray) Pennucci.
Albert (Al) spent his entire career in the logistics industry where he worked in planning, coordinating, and managing the transportation of goods, with expertise in air and ocean freight.
Beyond his professional life, Al was involved in his community. In his earlier years, he was an active member in local politics and the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). Al was a natural problem-solver; able to fix just about anything—from painting and woodworking, to fixing cars and mending clothes. Some of the most cherished memories of his life were spent with his family and vacations at Hampton Beach and Cape Cod.
Albert was the beloved husband of the late Mary Ann (Cushing) Pennucci. He is survived by his five children: David A. Pennucci and his wife Denise of Newnan, GA, Kevin M. Pennucci and his husband Kyle Landon of Billerica, Robert C. Pennucci and his wife Mary of Westerville, OH, Eric G. Pennucci and his wife Janeane of Reading, Jeanine D. Stansfield and her husband George of Reading. Loving grandfather of C.J., Matthew, Andrea, Matt, Tim, Adam, Jared, Evan, and Shelby. Great grandfather of Ashlee and T.J. He was the cherished brother of Michael Pennucci of Whitman and the late Sylvia Brewster and her husband Edward of Woburn.
Albert’s funeral will be held from the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in (at) St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. Reading at 10:30am. Burial to follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. Funeral home visiting hours will be Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 5-8PM.
