Albert's Obituary

The earthly journey of Albert Richardson, Jr. began on a warm summer day, August 31, 1945 in Galveston, Texas at John Sealy Hospital, when God blessed the lives of Albert Richardson, Sr. and Harriet Mason Richardson with a handsome son.He was a joy to his family. He was nurtured in a close loving home. He was a proud bearcat and member of the football team. Albert graduated from Central High School in 1965. After graduation, he attended the General Motors Training Center. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.Albert had a strong work ethic, he was dutifully employed at Pat Hogan, Todds Shipyard (19 years) until it closed, Grummans Aerospace, Durham Transportation, La Marque ISD and Dickinson ISD, where he retired from. He was a man that possessed many technical and mechanical gifts.Albert met Willie Ruther and the two fell in love and were united in holy matrimony on August 12, 1979. In 1985 he moved his family to La Marque, Texas and resided there until his passing. He was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed building car engines and racing, collecting stuffed animals, photography, traveling, good food and soothing great jazz music.He lived a full life; wherein, he gave and received much love. His presence will be greatly missed, but his spirit and many fond memories of him will be with his loved ones forever.On January 17, 2012 at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Albert changed his dwelling place from earth to Paradise. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Richardson, Sr. and Hariet Mason-Richardson, siblings, Laurell Hearsey, Sr., Archie Hearsey, Algreda Houston, Patricia Turner and Jacqueline Denefield. He leaves his legacy of love in the hearts of his devoted wife of 32 years, Willie Ruth Richardson; his children, Albert Richardson, III, Cynthia Fontenelle, Avery Richardson (Megumi), Shanda Holmes, Robert T. Holmes, Renita Sampson (Kedrick) and Christopher Williams; his God-daughter, Danielle Riley; his siblings, Royal C. Richardson (Rita), Rosaland M. Richardson, David Denefield and Diane M. Stanford, his 13grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
