Mrs. Alberta Lee Gant (nee: Ford) of Warrenton, MO, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. She was born on March 4, 1939, in Poplar Bluff, MO, to the late Clifford and Louella (nee: Fields) Ford. She had reached the age of 86.
Alberta was united in marriage to Donnie Dale Gant on August 29, 1954, in St. Louis. This union was blessed with eight children, and they spent many happy years together before his passing. Alberta took great pride in caring for her family. She loved being a homemaker and thrived at nurturing her children. She enjoyed reading poetry as well as writing her own poems. She liked doing puzzles with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed a variety of crafts. Alberta was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a wonderful friend to many. Her family members will cherish the memories they have of a wonderful woman.
Alberta Gant was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donnie; her parents, Clifford and Louella; two children, John and Philip; three grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her children, Ronda, Debbie, David, Reba, Lori and Lonnie; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 2 great - great grandchildren; one sister, Nancy; other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 AM, with Corey Tobias officiating. Memorial donations are suggested to be given to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in honor of Alberta.
