Alex "Honey" Greenwood, Jr., 89, of Navasota, died Tuesday morning, March 24, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Due to recent concerns surrounding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak and the recommendations by the CDC regarding the limit of any public gathering to 10 or less people and the practice of social distancing, a private funeral was held 11:00 am Saturday at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Hall of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church as the officiant. Calling hours followed from 12:00 to 5:00 pm Saturday, March 28th, at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home.
Alex "Honey" Greenwood, Jr. was born on April 6, 1930 to Alex and Ida Greenwood in Plantersville, Texas. Alex met and married Dollie Robinson and they were happily married for 60 years. Honey was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather who was loved by many.Alex was preceded in death by his parents, a son Donald and daughter Shirly as well as 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
Honey leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Dollie Greenwood of Navasota; a daughter, Leanna Prosper of Athens, TX, sons, James Green (Bell) of Baytown, Leon (Sheila) of Bryan, Jaray (Kim) of Navasota; adoptive son, Chris Davis (Ann) of Bryan; 9 grandchildren and 7 grandchildren as well as a host of relatives and friends.
