A funeral service for Alfred E. Goodman, 70 of Newark will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home | Newark. Burial will be at Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Goodman died September 30, 2025 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born November 23, 1954 in Logan, WV to the late Orvil E. Goodman and Mary Joann Goodman who survives.
Mr. Goodman was a craftsman by trade. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Southern Cruisers Riding Club. He especially loved spending time with family, particularly his grandchildren whom he adored.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his former wife, Diana Goodman; children, Justin Goodman and Erica Cannon; grandchildren, Lilly and Trenton; a brother, Donald (Patty) Goodman; sisters, Karen Rittenhouse, Diana (Craig) Nethers and Pamela Goodman; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his father, Mr. Goodman was preceded in death by a brother, James Goodman.
Friends and family may call two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
