Alice "Lorene" Weedn, 93, of Purcell, Oklahoma formerly of Tribbey, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014 in Purcell.
She was born July 11, 1920 to William Clyde and Vernice (Mansell) Roberson in Purcell, Oklahoma.
Lorene was raised around Duncan, Oklahoma and attended Duncan Public Schools.
She married A.V. “Corb” Weedn on May 1, 1937 in Duncan, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on January 2, 1977. After marriage she and “Corb” made their home in Tribbey until moving to Tecumseh in 1977 where she resided until 2007 later moving to Purcell.
Lorene was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She loved to crochet, was an avid reader and enjoyed working puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 daughters, Twilia June Evans and Beth Brents; grandson, William Gene Weedn and infant grandson; 2 brothers, James Roberson and O.B. Roberson.
Lorene is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Aubrey and Trish Weedn, of Purcell, OK, Virgil and Latricia Weedn, of Moore, OK and Olen “O.B.” Weedn, of Tecumseh, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Arnett and Ron Logan, of Maysville, OK; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will begin 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014 and continue until time of service. Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Prospect Cemetery in Tribbey with Reverend Bob Atterberry, Purcell First Baptist Church officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
