Mer'Kris'Nicci & Ransom It was way too soon to say our good byes but from the time of his death when we were standing by his bedside he opened his eyes turned toward Kris and smiled. I'm so glad I could be right there for you. The Military service at church was very beautiful and heart wrenching Butch would be proud . I Love You all very much

Allan M. Kurzer"Butch"Bay City, MichiganOur loving husband, father, grandfather passed away Tuesday December 10, 2013 at St. Mary's of Michigan at the age of 65 years. The son of the late Maurice and Helen (Tomczak) Kurzer was born June 10, 1948 in Bay City, Michigan and has resided here all of his life. Butch was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus # 414, The Bishop Murphy Assembly 4th Degree, and The Color Corp. He was a Vietnam Veteran that proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corp and retired from the Bay County Road Commission. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed spending time at the K of C and at Pulaski Hall.On June 25, 1981 he married the former Marie T. Rocheleau and she survives his passing along with one son and daughter-in-law; Kristopher and Niccole Kurzer, one grandson and the light of his life; Ransom Kurzer, his mother-in-law; Marlene Rocheleau, three sisters and three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law; Nancy Redmond, Gloria Kurzer, Cindy Eddy-Rease and her husband Byron and Merle Samborn, Larry Rocheleau and his wife Val and several nieces, nephews, special aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends. Mr. Kurzer was preceded in death by his father; Maurice Kurzer, mother and step father; Helen (Tomczak) and Hugh Wilcox, father-in-law; Keith Rocheleau, one sister; Christine (Tina) Samborn, two brothers-in-law; Tim Eddy and Gerald (Mick) Redmond and his nephews.The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will take place Friday, December 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak with private interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Thursday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Bible - Chalice Presentation will take place Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Vigil for the Deceased. Mr. Kurzer will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of the Mass. Memorial cards for the "Wishes of the Family" for a memorial to be established at a later time will be available.
