“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race,  I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

Alma Doucet Brown, affectionately known as “Aunt Toot,” was born on August 15, 1926, in Lafayette, Louisiana to the late Walter Doucet and Edith Broussard Doucet. She was raised in Louisiana, where she attended grade school. She later relocated to Beaumont, Texas, where she met the love of her life, Curtis Brown. Alma chose to remain in Beaumont, Texas, where she and Curtis were married and built a loving home together. She was blessed to witness 99 beautiful years of life, love, and cherished memories. She deeply valued family and remained closely connected to her loved ones throughout her life.

Alma was a faithful member at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, uniting when the church was on Forsythe Street. She served as usher in the earlier years and was a dedicated member of the Golden Years Ministry. At the time of her passing, she held the distinguished honor of being Antioch’s oldest living member.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Walter Doucet and Edith Broussard; her husband, Curtis Brown; and her siblings, John Doucet, George Doucet, Mildred Young, and Eva Daigle.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving and devoted daughter, Deborah Brown; her granddaughter, Megan Brown; her great-grandson, Shaun Williams; her special niece, Juanita McAfee (Lawrence); her godchild, Linda Faye Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
