Alta Darlene Faulkenbery Gueldner, 71, an 18-year resident of Pecan Plantation in Granbury, TX, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019. A funeral service will be held at 1:00p.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, 107 North Austin, Throckmorton, TX, with Scott Manley officiating. Burial will follow services at Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton.
Darlene was born September 28, 1947 in Portales, NM, to Ruby (Daniel) Faulkenbery Owen and Alton Faulkenbery. She married the love of her life, Jerry Gueldner, on March 23, 2002, on the Square in Granbury. A high school graduate, Darlene also earned several college credits. She made her career as a secretary for State Farm Insurance. Although she had no siblings, she had several special “sisters.” She also dearly loved her girls (Sloan, Zoe, Erica, Kerry, Logan, Anslee, Blaire), golf, guns, and especially her puppy dogs, Sadie and Penny, with whom she and Jerry enjoyed traveling to all 48 contiguous states.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Gueldner; cousin, Marlys Toddie; and aunt, Thelma Faulkenbery.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Owen; and father, Alton Faulkenbery.
