So sorry to hear about your dad. We was a good fellow and we all had some good times together. Sorry we weren't able to make the funeral, but we were out of town on vacation. Love and prayers for your family during this time.

We are so sorry for your loss. Hag was a great guy and he will be missed by many. So sorry we couldn't be at the funeral. We were out of town on vacation and just recently found out. God bless you all .

Wetzel and I are so sorry for your loss i can't believe that Bo is gone. I know words can't help you right now but know that you are in my prayers and thoughts.

Alvin's Obituary

Alvin Lee “Hag” Hager Jr, 62, of the Elgood Road, Pettry died suddenly Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at his home.  Born August 25, 1954 at Iaeger, he was the son of Phyllis Irene Powell Hager Bowen of Bent Mountain and the late Alvin Lee Hager Sr.  Hag was a graduate of Athens High School Class of 1973. He had worked for Consol Coal in Wyoming County, Pipestem State Park and as a Custodian at Concord University in Athens. Those that knew Hag, he had a great love for the outdoors; he especially enjoyed hunting & fishing, pitching horseshoes, making music and NASCAR.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his Step-father Dan Bowen.  Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, are his son and best friend, Alvin Lee Hager III & wife Sara of Fairmont, and the love of his life, his grandson Isaac Lee Hager; Three sisters; Syreda Jesse & husband Steve of Princeton, Sandra Hager of Bent Mountain, Cecilia “Pie” Hager of Bluefield, and a host of nieces and nephews; Step-daughter, Angela Scarbro & husband Tank and their two children, Drew & Jake.  Services to celebrate the life of Alvin Lee Hager Jr. will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 8, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Johnny Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the Broyles Family Cemetery at New Zion. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Family & friends will serve as pallbearers.  The Hager family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
