Not sure what to say?

Tyrone you were on of the smartest guys I known. You will be misses and Happy Birthday to you my guy.

Tyrone had a wonderful personality and a great smile he will truly be missed.

Tyrone was a very special and sweet man. He never forgot a name or a birthday. He loved talking to people and complimenting them. He was very friendly and outspoken. He definitely made 305 fun and memorable. He would always tell me what day of the week my birthday would be that year and that he would buy me a gift. I will never forget him and I will miss him. RIP Tyrone.

Truly missed

Hey I go back with Tyrone

Alvin's Obituary

With hearts full of love, we honor the peaceful journey of Alvin “Tyrone” Harrell. Alvin “Tyrone” Harrell, of 2100 Steppingstone Square, Chesapeake, Virginia, was peacefully called to his eternal rest on December 13, 2025.

Tyrone was born on December 31, 1958, in Franklin, Virginia, to the late Ruth Harrell Cooper. Affectionately known as Tyrone, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and united with Greater Oak Grove Baptist Church in Franklin, Virginia.

Tyrone was known and loved for his jolly, fun-loving spirit and infectious smile. He had a deep love for music and enjoyed listening to his radio, especially tuned to his favorite station, WOW1. Tyrone also delighted in humorous conversations, particularly those centered around fashion. A true fashion critic with a sense of humor, he enjoyed discussing wardrobe attire and colors—favoring green or blue (though subject to change), while making it very clear that red was not his favorite.

A lover of good food, Tyrone especially enjoyed chicken in any form—baked, fried, strips, nuggets, or drumsticks. His sweet tooth was satisfied best with chocolate cake, and his favorite beverage was Pepsi Cola.

Tyrone was a mathematician in his own right, possessing a strong grasp of addition, subtraction, and multiplication. He took great pride in his writing and was known for his unique penmanship, being meticulous and intentional with every letter he wrote to his family.

For nearly 20 years, Tyrone made his home in Building 305 at Southeastern Virginia Training Center, a place he valued, admired, and truly cherished. Building 305 was his happy home, where he was a popular and beloved resident. He was highly admired by the staff for his loving, caring nature and witty personality, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Tyrone leaves to cherish his precious memories and legacy of love his brother, Maurice Harrell (Shelia) of Columbia, South Carolina; two sisters, Sophonia Jones (Thad) of Suffolk, Virginia, and Wanda Greer (Mickey) of Spotsylvania, Virginia; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Though Tyrone has transitioned from this earthly life, his laughter, kindness, and joyful spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his love beyond measure.
