Alvin Lee Macklin, Sr.

Alvin Lee Macklin, Sr., entered into eternal rest Monday, August 26, 2013 at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, VA after a period of declining health. He was born in Mecklenburg County and was the son of Alma Dunson Macklin and the late Wilie Macklin.He married Cynthia Boyd October 25, 1974 and to this union two children were born, LaSharn and Alvin, Jr.He was employed by Beard Logging Company for many years.He leaves to cherish dear memories: his devoted wife, Cynthia B. Macklin of the home, three children, Denise Clements of Blackridge, VA, LaSharn Macklin Foster of Chase City, VA, and Alvin Macklin, Jr. of the home; his mother, Alma D. Macklin of La Crosse, VA; a son-in-law, Garry Foster of Chase City, VA; one grandson, Latrelle Macklin; and a host of aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to include a devoted aunt, Florence Macklin and a devoted cousin, Johnny Macklin both of La Crosse, VA.Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 1:30 PM at Roanoke Zion, RZUA Church in Bracey, VA, with Rev. Benjamin Whartman, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be 12:00 noon until 5:00 PM Friday, August 30, 2013 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.Funeral services are entrusted to the staff of the Oris P. Jones Funeral Establishment, South Hill, VA.
