Alvina's Obituary

The home going celebration for Alvina Jeanette Rambo Green, 54, will be Monday, October 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with Apostle Jermaine Dudley officiating.

Alvina Jeanette was born December 18, 1970, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to the late Alvin Rambo Sr., and Linda Brown Adcock.  She earned her angel wings on October 20, 2025, in Ardmore following an extended illness.

Alvina’s early years consisted of attending Ardmore City Schools and she was part of the Ardmore High School graduating class of 1989.

Alvina’s professional life consisted of being a licensed Cosmetologist, styling hair as well as a very talented nail technician.  Alvina worked in the home health industry for over 10 years.

Alvina and her mother had a very special bond and often talked and laughed and prayed together and two of Alvina’s favorite quotes were “Won’t He Do It” and “God Can Do Anything but Fail”. Alvina and her mother especially enjoyed watching the Wizard of Oz and Alvina enjoyed watching Nigerian movies. Alvina had a bond with her children in various ways; her sons recall a mantra that she instilled in them by reminding them daily that she always wanted them to Stay Humble and Receive Knowledge (S.H.A.R.K) and to live by this.

Alvina’s siblings have memories of her being a good example to them and that they will love and miss her but believe and know that she is resting in the Savior’s arms.

Alvina accepted Christ and had continued in her faith walk through sicknesses and failing health her faith in God’s ability to do anything was constant and she believed this with all her heart. She was a woman of prayer.

Left to cherish her memory are mother and stepfather, whom she affectionately called dad, Linda and Terry Adcock; her children, Edward Duncan, Jr.; Shawntina Rambo; Carlos Whibbey, Jr.; Demarion Whibbey-Green; and Jeremiah Whibbey; her siblings, Shauna Rambo; Frances Byars and husband Dewayne; Alvin Rambo, Jr. and wife Cindi; and Diona Whibbey and husband Archie; granddaughters Imani Ray Whibbey and Olivia Monroe; grandsons, Eddie Cobb III and Perry Jr.; three nephews, ten nieces and host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and a very special close friend Schanterael Reynolds.  She was preceded in death by her father Alvin Rambo, Sr.; husband Dean Green; maternal and paternal grandparents and longtime significant other Carlos Whibbey, Sr.

Services are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory where online condolences for the family may be left at www.hdouglasfuneralhome.com.
