MENARD, AMY LEIGH– Of Burton, age 54, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, at McLaren Hospital Flint.Per Amy’s whishes cremation has taken place.There will be no service held. Amy was born in Santa Clara, California on October 23, 1971, the daughter of Tom and Linda (Mikesell) Garland. She married Charles Menard on September 15, 1991, in Grand Blanc. Amy battled breast cancer for 11 1/2 years. She was a patient at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (now City of Hope) in Zion, Illinois from 2015 to January 2026. She had many friends there, both patients and staff. When she would meet a new patient, she always reassured them, “You’ve come to the right place. This is the best place to be.” Amy and Charles loved both cats and dogs and had many beloved pets throughout their 34 years of marriage. She worked at Al Bordeau Insurance Agency for 25 years. Their small plane made it possible to enjoy quick getaways and spur of the moment trips. She loved their trips to the U.P., especially Marquette, and also camping at the state parks. Amy is survived by her beloved and devoted husband, Charles, and her parents, Thomas and Linda Garland. She also leaves behind two cats, Baby Bobby, and Sweet Baby.
