Andrea Thomas

Andrea was a well respected, incredibly intelligent, and beautiful human being. I have had the pleasure of getting to know her the last few years and was able to call her a friend. I was truly shocked and heart broken to hear of her passing. I have had to stop myself a handful of times from calling her these last few weeks, she is truly missed! Andrea was a wonderful, smart, and dedicated coworker. Much of what she set up for the water sampling program for the state of NC is still in operation and has provided a sound basis for the program to improve and continue through the years. She is missed. My condolences and prayers.

I have great memories of working with an Andrea for 6.5 years at the Division of Water Quality. I still vividly remember how supportive and kind she was when my boxer passed by giving me a beautiful paper that had the “rainbow bridge” message. That was the first time I’ve ever heard it and I still have it. May she rest in peace! May all her family and friends find peace in her memories.

Andrea, you have always been a great friend and colleague to me over the years. I will miss our secret closed door office talks, after hours phone calls, intellectual debates which you always won because you are the smartest person I know. Thank you for commiserating with me, debating with me, training me, helping me and just being there for me. Your words and wisdom will always stay with me. I will miss you tremendously and will think of you often. ❤
