Andrew "Andy" Damon, 80, of Holden, born on November 24, 1932, passed away on August 26, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.Andy is the son of the late Andrew Sr. and Lucy Damon of Worcester and brother of the late Marion Laflamme. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marie (Fashjian) Damon; his three daughters, Andrea Sjostedt and her husband Peter of Rutland, Susan Spellman and her husband Joe of Hudson, Lisa Damon of Jefferson and many nieces and nephews.Andy was a longtime UPS and FedEx employee specializing in tractor trailer training. He served honorably in the Air Force before joining UPS and traveling the country teaching. A passionate golfer, Andy played many a year at Heritage Country Club in Charlton. He loved the Miami Dolphins, enjoyed traveling and the occasional jaunt to the casino.Later in life he got to enjoy his grandsons, Sam, Beck, Gavin and Will. He loved to spend time with them all. Making them laugh, sharing a story or imparting his wisdom.Andy was always a character and his infectious laugh and hysterical antics would liven up any get together. Whether he was getting tangled around a dog leash, falling over a rock or bush, he would laugh as much at himself as anyone, which was the fondness and spirit of his life. Our family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the tireless healthcare workers at Reliant Healthcare in Worcester for his compassionate care during his illness and to VNA Hospice.Visiting hours for Andy will be held on Thursday, August 29th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the VNA Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
