Obituary

Andrew's Obituary

Andrew "Drew" Freeborn Jr., a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on December 13, 1947, in Media, Pennsylvania, Drew was the eldest son of Andrew Freeborn Sr. and Catherine Farley.

Drew was widely known for his vibrant and energetic personality, always ready for a new adventure. A true free spirit, Drew's profound passion for motorcycles led him on countless cross-country journeys. These expeditions were often shared with his younger brother, Jimmy, and together they explored the beauty of numerous National Parks and roadside scenic landscapes.

Drew served his country in the Vietnam War. While he maintained lifelong friendships forged during that time, he preferred to look forward, and chose to keep the details of his wartime experiences private.

He is survived by his two loving brothers, William Freeborn of Aston, Pennsylvania, and James Freeborn of West Grove, Pennsylvania. Drew was a devoted father to his two sons, John Freeborn of Carlsbad, California, and Andrew Freeborn of Rose Valley, Pennsylvania. He took immense pride in his sons' accomplishments and was an avid supporter of their varied interests and hobbies. From skateboarding to basketball, his support of their interests and presence at their games and events was a constant source of encouragement and love.

A private celebration of Drew's life will be held in his hometown of Media, PA bringing together his closest family members, grandchildren, and friends to honor his memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Drew’s name to the National Parks Conservation Association, an organization that reflects his deep appreciation for the natural world and the preservation of its wonders. Donations can be made online at support.npca.org.
