Andrew and Santa among Friends
This boy, this beautiful boy Andrew, will always have a lasting, loving impact on the Petit family. He made Christmas real; he made Santa Claus real. We will forever love and miss Andrew, for he was such a beautiful, funny, smart, passionate light in the world. He made our lives better and brighter. May his extraordinary spirit find peace.

Andrew Rath, age 17, of Brambleton, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
Born in Leesburg, VA, Andrew spent his early years in Aldie before moving to Brambleton, where he grew up in his forever family home.
Andrew was truly a special soul—sweet, kindhearted, funny, caring, and wonderfully creative. He possessed an inquisitive mind and a deep curiosity that drove him to constantly learn more about his many passions. He was intelligent and articulate, and his unique perspective and sharp sense of humor made every conversation with him memorable.
Andrew was a talented musician. His musical journey began by mastering the bass guitar at School of Rock, where he shone brightly playing alongside his peers. He channeled his talent and passion into founding the Virginia hardcore band, Undermined. As a guitarist, he and the band played in venues from New Jersey to Richmond, leaving their mark on the music scene.
Beyond music, Andrew achieved his black belt in Tae Kwon Do, demonstrating his dedication and discipline.
Andrew was passionate about so many things throughout the years. He loved Legos, Star Wars, and Harry Potter. He was an avid reader of books and manga, a movie lover, and video game player.
In more recent years he was a guitar and bass aficionado and BMW expert. He loved sharing his wealth of knowledge with others, whether it was discussing music, cars, his dog, or trends in fashion and shoes.
A true foodie, Andrew also found joy in restaurants and in the kitchen. He was an adventurous eater who loved Mexican, Asian, and Italian cuisine, but his signature dish was manicotti. Of course, he always saved room for cookies, brownies and ice cream.
Andrew attended Creighton’s Corner Elementary, Brambleton Middle School, Independence High School, and Fusion Academy. He especially enjoyed history, diving deep into the subject with his characteristic intellect.
Andrew had a remarkable ability to make people smile and laugh. He loved his family, friends, teachers, and animals. In turn, he was loved by so many. He will be deeply and greatly missed but will remain forever in our hearts.
Andrew was preceded in death by his cousin, Easton Beisler.
Andrew is survived by his loving parents, Jen Rath (Mom) and Corey Rath (Dad), and his brother, Owen Rath; his grandparents, Sue Beisler (Grammy) and Warren Beisler (Pop Pop), Michele Rath (Grandma) and John Rath (Grandpa); his aunts and uncles, Scott Beisler (Uncle) and Lauren Beisler (Aunt), Sean Rath (Uncle), and Brian Rath (Uncle); his cousins, Ryan Beisler, Riley Rath, and Teagan Rath; and his best dog ever, Molly.
