Not sure what to say?

One of the best co-workers. Worked many years with Andy. Very enjoyable person. RIP my military brother.

Andy's Obituary

Andy Leroy Merriman, 76, of Marietta, formerly of Newcastle, passed away on January 7, 2026.  The son of Audy Leroy Merriman and Dortha Jean (Callaway) Merriman, Andy was born in Madera, California on June 1, 1949.

Andy served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969 and was in Germany for most of that time.  His duties included guarding missiles.  Andy married Deloris Sandra “Sandy” McCrary on July 28, 1972.  They were happily married for almost 49 years before Sandy’s passing in 2021.

Andy worked for several years at the OKC Stockyards as a cowhand and left that job to work in the oilfield where he operated the work over rigs. Andy spent 29 years with the FAA as a warehouse lead until his retirement.  He loved to fish and water ski and about anything having to do with the water.  Lake Muray was especially dear to him.  Andy was a great mechanic and could fix anything with a motor.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles when he was younger.  He loved spending time with his family and he and Sandy helped raise Destinee, Taylor “Taylor-Bo” and Lane “Laney” as he nicknamed them.  Papa will be greatly missed by all of the grandkids and those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandy Merriman; and great granddaughters, Emma Lynn and Aaliyah Jade.

Andy is survived by four sons, Andy Sims and his wife, Darlene, of Blanchard, William “Willie” Merriman of Newcastle, and Audy Merriman and wife Mary of Ninnekah, and  Robert Wayne Merriman, of Holdenville; six grandchildren, Destinee, James, Sierra, Hattie, Taylor and Lane; ten great grandchildren and one on the way; three brothers, Gary, Danny and Michael Merriman; one sister, Tammy Williams;  numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.

Graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the Newcastle Memorial Gardens in Newcastle.  Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. An online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
