Anita's Obituary

Anita, a devoted mother, public servant, and tireless worker passed away at the age of 88 after a period of declining health. Anita lived a life defined by hard work, service to others, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Anita began working as a young child and continued working well into her early seventies, only stopping when her health no longer allowed it. Her work ethic was extraordinary, and she believed deeply in contributing, serving and standing on one’s own strength.

Anita worked as a preschool teacher’s aide, on produce farms, as a La Salle County jailer, and food commodities distributor.

Beginning in the early 1970’s she was actively involved in politics and community affairs. She was elected to serve multiple terms as a City Council Representative and was a dedicated member of the CSA, receiving recognition for her many years of faithful and committed service.

Above all else, Anita will be remembered for her kind words of encouragement, willingness to help and the strength she quietly modeled every day. Her love for her family was constant and unconditional. She touched countless lives through her hard work, her service and compassion and her legacy will continue through those she loved and helped along the way.

Anita is preceded in death by her husband, Armando Davis Sr.; son, Armando Davis Jr.; infant daughter, Mary Davis; her parents, Jesus and Genoveva Gonzalez; brothers, Alberto, Ramon. Francisco, and Jesus and her sisters, Teresa, Carolina and Berta.

Anita is survived by her husband, Anatolio S. Ramirez; daughters, Belinda (Esequiel†) Garcia, and Cindy (Cristobal) Rodriguez; grandchildren, Kristan, Esequiel, Christopher, Elizabeth, Celsa, Joey, Crisanne, Bryan and Armando Davis III.
