Anna's Obituary

Anna Gut (née Sidor)August 8, 1942 – February 8, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Gut. She passed away peacefully on February 8th, 2025. She was born on August 8, 1942, in Poland to her late parents, Stanislaw and Helena Sidor.

Anna was the beloved wife of the late Anatol Gut. Together, they immigrated to the United States from Poland in 1975. They built a life filled with love and family. She was the devoted mother of Lucy (the late Adam) Lesnicki and Bonnie (Stanley) Basiorka. A cherished grandmother to Michelle (Phillip), the late Jessica, Amy, Alyssa, Brandon, Jeremy, and Zachary, and a loving great-grandmother to Hailey, with another great-granddaughter on the way.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Walter, John, Rudy, Bolek, Casey, and Adelka, and is survived by her dear sisters Zosia, Isabelle, and Christine. Anna also leaves behind many relatives and dear friends, both in the United States and in Poland.

A talented seamstress, Anna worked for Cintas for many years. She had a passion for gardening and could often be found outside, soaking in the sun and tending to her plants and vegetables. She was also a gifted cook, her family loved her homemade pierogi, gołąbki, and mushroom soup. She loved traveling with her family,and always embraced the joy of new experiences and time spent together.

Anna will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will forever remain in their hearts.

Visitation Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 3 – 8 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St. Lemont. Funeral services Friday, February 14, 2025, 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home to Our Lady Mother of the Church Polish Mission for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
