Our beloved mother was born on March 10, 1936 in Norquay, Saskatchewan; and peacefully received her angel wings on March 1, 2026, just days before her 90th birthday. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Elvin Stallard. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, hard work, and devotion to family. Mom met and married Elvin in 1955, and in 1956 they made their home in Creighton, where she embraced her most treasured role — being a mother to her five boys. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Bob (Grace), Terry (Gwen), Doug (Sharon), Dwight (Colleen), and Rick (Tannis). She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren.For 25 years, Mom worked with Saskatchewan Health Care as an Office Administrator and Health Aide, serving her community with compassion and dedication. Her commitment to helping others extended far beyond her professional life. She was deeply involved in church organizations and Mission Circle, always ready to lend a hand wherever there was need.Family was the heart of her world. She treasured family gatherings filled with laughter, stories, and of course, her wonderful cooking. She was known far and wide for her delicious borscht, rollkuchen, beet buns, perogies, and of course, her famous mushroom soup (which was raved and begged for at the local curling rink) — meals made with love that brought everyone to the table.Mom enjoyed curling, knitting, vegetable gardening, and spending summer days blueberry and raspberry picking. She found joy in simple pleasures and shared that joy generously. If someone needed a ride to a doctor’s appointment, the grocery store, or church, she was there without hesitation — so much so that she lovingly became known as Norquay’s own “town Uber.” The old black van took a few bumps and bruises along the way but made a lot of miles around town. Helping others wasn’t just something she did; it was who she was.Her life was one of service, love, faith, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. We would like to thank the entire staffs at Luther Tower and Luther Intermediate Care Home, Saskatoon Convalescent Home, and her final resting spot at Cozie Nest Long Term Care Home for their wonderful care and compassion shown to mom while she was spending time in these care homes.Plans for Mom’s Celebration of Life will be determined and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please forward all donations to the Norquay United Church (18 – 1st Ave S #42, Norquay, Saskatchewan, SOA 2VO).“Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while …But their hearts forever!”
