Anne's Obituary

Wesolowsky

1935~2020

Anne "Anutka" Wesolowsky, age 84, of Dunwoody Village, Newtown Square, formerly of Rutledge, PA. Beloved wife of the late Anthony Wesolowsky, and loving daughter; the late Alexis Press.

Anne loved cooking, traveling, making chocolate, her home and family, especially her grandchildren. Anne was born to Russian immigrant parents and was raised in Montreal, Canada.  After studying Home Economics on scholarship at McDonald College, a school within McGill University, Anne worked as head dietitian at the Royal Victoria Hospital for three years.  She traveled by car across Europe with friends for 3 months, a trip that was recounted later by the local press. Anne was a sophisticated young woman who enjoyed the culture and fashion of her hometown.

Anne was introduced to her husband by a mutual friend and immediately connected over their passion for Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto. They began a long distance courtship: Tony in Chester, and Anne in Montreal.  They married on June 3, 1961 at St. Peter and St. Paul Russian Orthodox Church, settled in Chester, Pa, and then moved to Rutledge where they remained for 40 years. There, they raised their children, entertained many guests, including beloved Canadian family, laughed, and loved. Their home was filled with warmth and love.

Anne was involved in several volunteer activities while raising her children: Girl Scout Leader, American Field Service (AFS) Advisor, PTO Volunteer, Class Officer, and Volunteer Dietitian for the ABC House in Swarthmore.  Anne also worked outside the home; she worked as a Teacher's Aide at the Swarthmore College Nursery School and ran a chocolate-making company with a friend for many years.  Later in life, Anne and Tony worked as substitute ushers at the Academy of Music and Kimmel Center; they were able to enjoy music, opera, meet fascinating musicians, and make new friends. Anne also enjoyed traveling to Europe to visit her daughters who lived in France, and to spend time with her son and family currently in Prague, Czech Republic.

After her husband Tony's passing in 2006, Anne moved to Dunwoody Village where she resided and was cared for during the remainder of her days.

Survivors: loving children; Anthony Wesolowsky, Jr. (Marketa), Allyson Doig (Robert), Son-in-law Dan Press, dear grandchildren; Benjamin, Elizabeth, Annie, Scott, Alex, and Sophie.

Due to our World Wide Situation: Funeral Services and Interment Private.
