Not sure what to say?

There aren’t enough words to express Annette and my friendship. We laughed, cried, argued like sisters, talked for hours on end (literally) and the list goes on. Mostly we shared, cared, again laughed and loved each other as friends should! Hearts are broken! Annette is missed immensely! Prayers and love for your great love, Mike, family and multitude of friends♥ No one fought harder to live. It’s time to rest my friend!

I met Annette my freshman year of high school. We became instant friends and I was blessed to be included with two other friends; Beverly McElhaney and Bobbie Johnson. We were inseparable. To have friends like these three is rare. Annette was so much fun and always thinking of others. We would laugh until our sides hurt. Great times! The moment that stands out in my memory is Beverly’s birthday we all attended. We spent the night at Beverly’s home and woke up to the incredible snow storm of...

I worked with Annette & her mother Betty at Indiana Bell Telephone co they were both the two most fun loving & best ladies you would ever meet, my condolences to the family I know she will be missed by all who knew & loved her

ANNETTE's Obituary

Annette Humpston Moore, 75, of Henderson, Kentucky, a woman of unwavering faith and legendary generosity, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

She was born in Henderson, Kentucky, on October 19, 1950, to the late Delbert Bradley and Betty Jean Christ Humpston.  Annette spent her career devoted to connection, serving as a dispatcher and spending over 20 years as a telephone operator.  Her natural ability to bridge gaps between people extended far beyond her work.  To know Annette was to have a “great friend.”  She was the one who never missed a phone call and truly thrived whenever her community gathered together.  She was generous to a fault, always putting the needs of others before her own.

A devout Christian, Annette’s life was guided by her love for the Lord and a deep-seated desire to serve.  While she loved her community, her greatest joy was her family.

Survivors include her beloved partner of 20 years, Mike Harris; her two children, Stacy Lynn Powell and her husband, Christopher Lee Powell, and Daniel Louis Moore; two grandchildren, Shelby Harder and her husband, Chandler, and Sarah Hinkle and her husband, Dalton.  She is also remembered fondly by her sister, Debra Hays and her husband, Jere, as well as her niece, nephew, and many lifelong friends.

A memorial service to honor Annette’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Henderson First United Methodist Church.  The Reverend Janet Carden will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christian Community Outreach or New Hope Animal Rescue Center.

Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
