Annie Will (Dix) Kimbrough was born on May 1, 1937, in Russell County, Alabama, to the late Samuel Watts and Johnnie Lee Dix. As a young girl, she attended Russell County Training School, where she was an avid basketball player.

In 1957, she relocated to East Chicago, Indiana, where she met and married the love of her life, Frank Charles Kimbrough, and eventually the family relocated to Gary, Indiana.

Annie Will dedicated over 40 years of service as a laundry attendant at St. Margaret Hospital. She was also a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church of East Chicago where she served as a member of the Nurses Guild.

She found joy in gardening, exercising, cooking, and spending cherished time with her family.

Annie Will was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Kimbrough; four brothers Ezekiel Battle, Rev. Gennie Dix, Johnnie Watts, and Roosevelt “Bell” Dix and one sister, Ida-Mae Dix.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, David Brooks, Tyrone Kimbrough, Maurice Kimbrough, Kimberly K. Kimbrough, and Tracy Kimbrough; stepdaughter, Sheila Stewart; her brother, Fletcher Dix; sisters, Abbie Dix and Bernice Dix-Mims; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
