Anthony's Obituary

     Anthony Bartenope, age 77, of Emmetsburg, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa. Martin Mattice Funeral Home of Emmetsburg is assisting the family.

     Anthony Mark Bartenope, the son of Dominic and Genevieve (Sorletti) Bartenope, was born on July 30, 1948 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Hazleton High School. On May 9, 1970, he was united in marriage to Virginia Volciak in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. Anthony loved music, thrifting and going to consignment shops, riding his bike and walking, and spending time with his family.

     Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Virigina of Emmetsburg;His daughter Brenda and granddaughters Nirvana and Kierra and his great great granddaughter Ava, of Dubuque, Ia.also His brother Jacky from Las Vegas  and his brother Dominic from. Hazleton, Pa. along with nieces and nephews . 

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Genevieve Bartenope and his brother Michael Bartenope . There will be a celebration of life in Dubuque Iowa held at a later date.
