Anthony's Obituary

Born in Brooklyn NY in 1932 he resided there with his wife and three children until 2003 when he moved to Staten Island then in 2017 when he became a resident of Upper Freehold NJ. 

Anthony proudly served in the US ARMY in the Korean War alongside his twin brother Gennaro from August 18,1953 to June 23, 1955. He married his dear wife Lydia on November 21, 1959. Anthony retired from the NYC Department of Environmental Protection as District Foreman in 1994 it was there were he mentored many young workers. 

An avid baseball fan, he loved his ice cream and everyone knew he had a talent for growing tomatoes in his gardens. He is known for his ability to repair any item and always bringing his bag of tools when visiting family and friends ready to fix anything. 

Above all he had a strong Christian faith and would always say "Jesus loves you".  Anthony had a deep love for his family and his three granddaughters were his pride and joy. 

Son of the late Carmine and Louise Bruno he was predeceased by his ten siblings including his twin brother Gennaro Bruno with whom he shared a long standing unique special bond. Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Lydia Bruno; his children and their spouses, Lisa and Frank Tatulli, Anthony and Kerry Bruno, Gina Bruno; his granddaughters, Lauren, Caitlin, and Keira Bruno whom he loved deeply and many loving nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held Monday, October 20th from 8am to 10:30am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11am at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Allentown, NJ. Interment with military honors will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
