Anthony's Obituary

OAKVILLE Anthony F. Innaimo “Loving husband, father, grandfather and brother” Mr. Anthony F. “Tony” Innaimo, 77, of Oakville passed away peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the VITAS Inpatient Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He fought a fierce, courageous and long battle with dignity and strength. He was the beloved husband of Theresa (Buonocore) Innaimo. Tony was born in Waterbury on September 6, 1938, son of the late Frank and Rose (Pelegano) Innaimo. He was a graduate of Crosby High School, Class of 1956. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the Mediterranean Sea on the USS Amphion and USS Mercury. A Master Plumber, he was the founder of Anthony Plumbing and Heating for many years until his retirement in 2001. Anthony had a strong work ethic and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting. He loved working in his garden and was so proud of his vegetable plants. He was an avid fan of the N.Y. Yankees and UCONN Basketball. He was a member of the VFW Oakville Post 7330. At his family summer home in Milford, he loved fishing, and clamming. He loved having all his family together for Sunday pasta dinners. He took great pride attending his grandson’s football, baseball and basketball games, and as well as his granddaughter’s cheerleading competitions. His joy was his family and grandchildren. Besides his wife, Theresa of 51 years, he leaves his sons; Steven Innaimo and his wife, Robin of Cheshire, Mark Innaimo and his wife Susan of Fairfield, brother; Richard Innaimo and his wife, Linda of Thomaston, sister-in-law; Nancy Antunes of Waterbury, 5 grandchildren; Nicholas, Lindsey, Jenna, Michael and Madeline Innaimo, 3 step grandchildren, Doug, Gage and Kylie Riccio, several nieces, nephews and many close friends. He was predeceased by his grandson Christian Innaimo whom he loved and adored. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Jega, Dr. Chao and the entire staff of the VITAS Inpatient Unit for all the love, care and compassion shown to Anthony and his family during his time of illness. Arrangements: Funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Calling hours will be held Sunday, 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
