Age 98, of Polish Hill, on May 14, 2023. Beloved husband for 57 years of the late Loretta (Rolewicz) Welka; loving father of Nancy (Richard) Stokes, Robert (Babs) Welka and Donna (Scott) Marsonek; cherished grandfather of Kimberly (Michael) McGuire, Bradly (Colleen) Stokes, Stephanie (the late Stephen) Rice, Adam Thomas, Amanda (Todd) Kovach, Scott (Steffanie) Marsonek and Lauren (Albert) Belshaw; devoted great-grandfather of Sapphire, Ryan, Kaitlin, Liam, Finnigan, Brendan, Lukas, Abbigail, Stella, Sylvia, Ensley, Layla and Allison; son of the late John and Helen Welka; brother of the late Theresa Poloka, Albert Welka, Brownie Welka, August Welka, Joseph Welka and Agnes Jarzynka; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Tony spent the majority of his life on Polish Hill where he attended Immaculate Heart of Mary School. He was an extremely proud World War II Army Veteran and member of the V.F.W. Post #9199. He worked as a printer. Tony enjoyed playing golf, cards and was a ringer at horse shoes. He especially enjoyed attending the various sports and activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One of his favorite Easter traditions was tossing dollar bills out of the second story window of his home to his awaiting grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and proudly rang the bells into his 90’s. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
