Antoinette “Ann” Bogdanich, 93, passed away at her home on November 20, 2025. A longtime Patterson resident, she will be deeply missed by her loving family and countless friends.
Ann was born on May 29, 1932, on the island of Vis in Croatia, as were her parents, Marijan and Katica Mladineo. She had one brother, Joseph Mladineo.
After immigrating to the United States in 1950, the family settled in San Pedro, California, where there was a vibrant Croatian community. There she met and married Anton Bogdanich, the love of her life, on Valentines Day in 1953. In 1962, they purchased an apricot orchard in Patterson and established Bogdanich Dried Fruit, which Ann managed.
She loved cooking and always kept a welcoming home full of family and friends. An avid reader, she especially enjoyed following current events. She also enjoyed music, gardening, dancing, and playing bridge with her friends. Ann was a devoted Catholic and an active member of Sacred Heart Church and YLI.
Ann is survived by her four children, Geri Bogdanich, Tom Bogdanich, Cathy (Jim) Cox and Marion (Carol) Bogdanich. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Michael (Racine) Bogdanich, Warren Cox, Kelly (Tyler) Sandelin and two great grandchildren, Nikola Bogdanich and Micha Bogdanich.
The Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 10th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by burial at Patterson Cemetery.
Services conducted by Hillview Funeral Chapel, Patterson.
