Antonio (Tony) Campos, the beloved patriarch of the Campos family, peacefully passed away in his sleep on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the age of 75. Tony was born on October 18, 1949, in Guerrero, Mexico.Tony is survived by his loving wife, Hilda Campos; two daughters, Candy Delgado and April Ayala; his nine grandchildren, Angela Gonzalez, Andrew Gonzalez, Saije Ayala, Adrian Gonzalez, Ambur Ayala, Siena Ayala, Onyx Ayala, Royal Ayala, and Ivan Delgado; his siblings, Ramon Campos, Yascara Campos, Efren Campos, Judith Campos, Rosa Campos, Tomas Campos, Lila Campos, and Eduardo Campos; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Evaristo Campos Romero, mother Hilda Nunez Serna, and his brother Evaristo “Tito” Campos.As the eldest of 10 children, Tony took pride in being the protective older brother. He was always there for his siblings, offering love, support, and guidance whenever needed. In 1975, Tony made the brave decision to travel to the United States in pursuit of the American dream. That summer, he met the love of his life, Hilda Rivera. They married on February 5, 1977, and soon after welcomed their first daughter, Candy. Three years later, their family grew with the birth of their second daughter, April, and Tony’s heart expanded in ways he never imagined.Tony worked hard to instill his values in his daughters: a love for cooking, the importance of hard work, and an undying loyalty to the Los Angeles Dodgers. As the years passed and his family grew with the addition of nine grandchildren, Tony’s love only deepened. His home was always open to family and friends, and his hospitality made everyone feel like part of the family. He was the friend that could be counted on, and he was known for hosting the most lively and joyous family gatherings, making sure that everyone had a great time.In his retirement, Tony and Hilda enjoyed many adventures together, traveling the world and creating memories that will last forever. Whether attending concerts, visiting new countries, or trying their luck at casinos, they shared countless happy moments. On peaceful Sundays, Tony could often be found browsing the swap meet. He also loved the tranquility of the open sea, spending hours watching the scenery from a deep-sea fishing boat.Above all,Tony’s greatest joy was being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He found comfort and peace in spending time with his grandchildren. He was always eager to share the accomplishments of his grandchildren with anyone who would listen. To him, they were his greatest pride, and he made sure everyone knew just how remarkable they were. In addition, Tony cherished moments spent with his siblings, whether at family dinners, parties, or just enjoying each other's company in quiet, cherished time together.Tony will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest easy, Tony. You will be deeply missed.
