I also worked wit Arlie at South Shores A&P. He taught me a lot and we had many good times together. He was a good man.

My husband, Bob, worked with Arlie at A&P and I worked with him at Eagle. Always kind. Always helpful. So sorry for your loss.

Obituary

Arlie's Obituary

Arlie Eirhart 72, of Decatur, IL passed away at 9:55 p.m., Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

A service to celebrate Arlie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel.  The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday morning until service time.  Memorials may be made to Northeast Community Fund.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.

Arlie was born September 14, 1945, in Effingham, IL the son of James and Esta Lucille (Horath) Eirhart.  He married Karen (Atteberry) Gregory on December 9, 2000.  He retired from Eagle Food Store having been a Produce Manager.  He also formerly worked for the City of Decatur and at the Clinton Power Station.  Arlie was a former member of Locust Grove Church and was an avid hunter.

 

Surviving are his wife: Karen of Decatur; children: Regina Peoples (Connie) of Decatur, Jason Eirhart (Katrina) of Altamont, Sharon Todd (Bob) of Champaign, Sheila Long (Bill) of Decatur, and Susan Gregory of Champaign; daughter-in-law: Carol Eirhart of Clarksville, TN; sister: Barbara Thoele (Ronald “Moon”) of Teutopolis, IL; grandchildren: Brittany, Alysa, Victoria, Crystal, Amanda, Kaden, Kienon, Alex, and Austin; great-grandson: Rogan.

 

Arlie was preceded in death by his parents, and son: Damon.
