Arthur Edwards passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
A proud veteran of the Korean War, Arthur served his country with honor and later retired from Texaco, where he worked as a Merchant Marine. For more than four decades, he found joy and comfort in his daily routine of visiting McDonald’s and listening to country music.
Born on December 28, 1932, in Palmetto, Louisiana, Arthur was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruby Edwards. He is survived by his devoted children: son John Edwards Sr., and daughters Kay M Edwards and Kim Edwards Walker (Shannon).
Arthur was a cherished grandfather to John Edwards Jr. (Tora), Seth Edwards, Trace Edwards, Cameron Walker, and Dylan Walker, and was recently blessed with his first great-grandchild, Alena Edwards.
We, the family of Arthur Edwards, take this opportunity to praise God for our family and friends, and we say "thank you" to each of you for what you have shared during this time. A special and loving acknowledgment is given to our cousin Father David Edwards. The family extends heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Harbor Hospice and especially Laurie and Morgan, and to the VA Medical Center Staff Wanda, Michelle, Dr. Kendrick, and Ms. Webber for their devoted care. May God richly bless each of you.
