Arthur's Obituary

Arthur E. "Skip" Geist Jr., 88 years young went home on Saturday December 27, 2014. Skip was born on March 28, 1926 to the late Arthur E. Sr. and Margaret Geist in Oakford, PA. He lived in Oakford for 82 wonderful years. Skip attended Our Lady of Grace Grade School in Langhorne, PA and was a graduate of North Catholic High School class of 1944. After graduation he joined the U. S. Navy and proudly served his country during World War II. He married Mary in 1947 and was blessed with three children. For most of Skip's working career he was self-employed; he also was a school bus driver, worked for Greenwood Dairies and Rosenberg Dairy but his most enjoyable time was at Penns Wood Senior Community.Skip's true love was the Assumption B.V.M. Church in Feasterville, PA and the Regina Mundi chapter of the Knights of Columbus. Skip and his wife Mary were among the founding families of the Assumption B.V.M. Church. He was a charter member of the Regina Mundi Council #4052; in 1955, along with his father and brother he held every office in the council; he was also the District Deputy 4th Degree and served on the PA State Council.Skip moved to East Stroudsburg, PA in 2008. He was a member of St. Matthew Parish; where he enjoyed being part of the annual block party. Skip loved life, his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his friends. Everybody looked forward to getting their Christmas, birthday and anniversary cards from him; he loved to send the cards and telling them how much he loved them. His favorite past time when he had free time was watching the Philadelphia Phillies.Skip was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Josephine Camerote; his brothers Charles and Paul Geist and his loving wife of 37 years Mary T. Left behind to cherish her memory are his children Arthur E. Geist III and his wife Joanne, Suzanne M. Reeser, George P. Geist and JoAnn Geist; his 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.He was also preceded in death by his companion Donna.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Assumption B.V. M. Church 1900 Meadowbrook Rd., Feasterville, PA 19053 on Monday at 11:00 am followed by his interment in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. Family and friends will be received at the James O. Bradley Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Bellevue Ave., Penndel, PA 19047 on Sunday evening from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Monday morning from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.Flowers are welcome by the family or contribution's in Skip's memory may be made to the IHM Nuns 7310 Torresdale Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19136.
