Arthur Wesley Jenkins, 101, of Booker, Texas, went to Heaven on October 26, 2025 in Booker. Viewing will be Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Booker, Texas. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2025 at Sophia Cemetery in rural Beaver County, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.
Arthur was born on February 24, 1924 in Beaver County, Oklahoma to Esther Davis Jenkins and Perry Jenkins. He was raised on a farm near Booker, Texas, and he is the oldest of five siblings. He had an adventurous life working and helping his parents on their farm along with his siblings.
After high school graduation, Arthur bought a farm near Booker, Texas while working at Northern Natural Gas plant, and while farming. Arthur married Grace May Corder in 1960 in Beaver County, Oklahoma, and they shared four children. Arthur was an avid fisherman. He and Grace loved to travel the country in their travel trailer along with their beloved pet, Sonny. Arthur was known to have one of the best manicured yards in town. Arthur and Grace both were devoted Christians and attended the Church of Christ in Booker, Texas for years, along with their many lifelong friends.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Grace May Jenkins, of Booker, Texas; one daughter, Darla Jenkins Baird of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one son, Don Jenkins and wife Sherry of Beaver, Oklahoma; one brother, Lyndell Jenkins of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Coweta Jenkins Akridge of Beaver, Oklahoma, and Cheryl Jenkins Slovechk of Edmond, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Dianna Jenkins Hill; one son, Craig Jenkins; and two sisters, Virginia Jenkins Niles and Barbara Jenkins Altman.
The family requests memorials be to one’s favorite charity.
