Arthur's Obituary

Arthur Herbert Themer, age 93, was born July 7, 1932, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma to William H. and Meta (Willms) Themer, and passed away on February 18, 2026.

Arthur was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and he and his wife, Sharlene (Robinett) Themer, were married at Emmanuel in 1957. He continued as a lifelong member, serving the congregation in many capacities from Sunday School Superintendent to Church Elder.

In high school, Arthur was a member of the Kingfisher FFA and attained the degree of American Farmer. Arthur went on to farm, raising wheat, sheep, and cattle, and continued to support the FFA, becoming an honorary State Farmer in 1988. He enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren and their friends as they participated in livestock shows and speech contests. Arthur also served as a member of the Kingfisher County Fair Board. Arthur served his country in the army and was stationed in Japan during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 5, and served on the honor guard. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Meta Themer; his older siblings Paul Themer, Pauline Latham, Marie Pray, Dorothea Rindt, Bill Themer, and Martha Ann Themer; and his children, Gregory Arthur Themer and Susan Beth Themer. Arthur is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sharlene; his children, Kathy Kadavy (Jerry) and Dennis Themer (Tammy); his grandchildren, Andrew Kadavy (Daysi), Marie Kadavy Lewis (Trey), Addison Themer Cantrell (Gage), Harrison Themer (Madelyn), and Allison Themer; and great-grandchildren, Max and Sophie Kadavy, Mira Lewis, and Carter Jo Cantrell. Visitation for Arthur will be from 9am-6pm, Monday, February 23, at Sanders Funeral Service.Arthur’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 24th at 10:30 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Kingfisher, Oklahoma followed by burial at Kingfisher Cemetery, under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 124 W. Douglas, Kingfisher, OK, 73750. Under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
