It has been many years since we have seen each other however my memories of your husband/father are of a loving, gentle, kind man always with a smile on his face. I remember fondly all the wonderful times my family and yours would get together in St. Louis when we were young. He will be sorely missed by all of us. May he rest in peace and may God give you the strength to get through this terrible loss. Our thoughts and Prayers are with you all. ...

I know that Heeneh will miss Asa just as you miss him greatly. I will take Asa's memory with me to Heeneh, and to Mount Hermon (Jabal Al-Sheikh), when I go to Syria next time. I am honored Asa was part of my life. I will always remember how he welcomed me in his home when I first arrived from Syria and made me feel at home. I pray that his memory will always give you the love and strength that carry you forward so that you touch others' lives like he did so many.
