Austin “Austy” Bailey, born March 14, 1985, in McAllen, Texas went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2025, at the age of 40. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Homer Powell; and his paternal grandfather, Howard Edward Stricklin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Bailey; father, Rick Bailey and Melissa; mother, Camille Walters and Perry; paternal grandfather, Dick Bailey and Anne; paternal grandmother, Bonnie Seymour; maternal grandmother, Bettie Powell; brothers, Trent Bailey and wife Taylor, and Brenden Bailey; sisters, Lori Dominguez and husband James, Coral Thornbrough, Corrinne Yankey and husband Forrest, Kennedy Cisneros and husband David; two nieces; sister-in-law; extended family and friends.
Austy found joy in music and was proud to be part of a band. He enjoyed playing basketball, whether one-on-one or by himself, and was a devoted fan of the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys, and Ohio State. He loved anything outdoors, especially dirt bikes, roller skating, and riding side-by-sides. He enjoyed serving others in hospitality. Most importantly, he loved his friends and family more than anything. His smile, his jokes, and his hugs will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a sharing of memories from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home.
