Obituary for Austin Nickolas McCullough
Austin Nickolas McCullough, beloved son, brother, cousin, grandson and friend, passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 30. Born on June 5, 1995, in Detroit, Michigan, to Pamela Rochelle Anderson and Tyrone Gamble, Austin’s life was a radiant light that touched everyone he met.
Austin lived a life full of passion, joy, and purpose. A true Razorback fanatic, he loved sports and carried that love into his life as both a player and a coach. He was gifted in academics, particularly in mathematics, earning several awards as a scholar and mathematician. His love for learning was matched only by his love for people—especially his family.
He embraced his role as big brother with deep devotion, serving as protector and keeper of his siblings: Lawrence Anderson IV, Ian Anderson, India Anderson, Krypto, Tyrone Gamble Jr., and twin sisters Ashley and Amber Gamble. His love for his family was unshakable, and his bond with his mother was special—he was a momma’s boy through and through.
Austin also shared a fatherly bond with Lawrence (Ed) Anderson 3rd, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents Shirley Jean Andrews and Walter Adrian McCullough, Great Grandmother Willie Mae Andrews
He is survived by his parents, Pamela Rochelle Anderson and Tyrone Gamble; his loving grandparents James and Joyce Gamble; his siblings; and a host of extended family and friends who cherished him dearly.
Children loved Austin, and he gave his heart to coaching, mentoring, and encouraging the next generation. He was also an animal lover, finding joy and comfort in the companionship of God’s creatures. To know Austin was to experience laughter, love, and light. He could lift a room with his joy, and he could stir up your spirit with his energy.
Though his life ended far too soon, Austin’s legacy of love, laughter, and faith will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him.
