Barbara's Obituary

Barbara Braswell Aunspaugh, was born on November 19, 1950, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the family of John and Florence Braswell. As an infant, Barbara rode on a large cotton sack that her mother pulled behind her while working in the fields. As she matured and the family grew, Barbara did her part by helping out around the home with her younger siblings. She received education at TA Futrell School in Marianna.

Growing into a beautiful young lady, Barbara caught the eye of Marshall Aunspaugh. After a time of courtship, they were married and made their home in Brinkley. As a new bride, she happily settled into her role of homemaker. Their home was blessed over the years, with the birth of two sons, Lewis and Justin and one daughter, Amanda. In time they were given the added joy of watching them begin families of their own. Barbara enjoyed putting her skills to use in caring for her family. The holidays were a special time around the Aunspaugh home. Barbara loved cooking and if you were lucky when you pulled up a seat, at the table, you were treated to a batch of her homemade biscuits.

Outside the home Barbara worked on the Turpin farms for many years, driving a tractor - grain cart. Raised in the Christian faith she was a faithful member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church located in Moro.

For several years Barbara has experienced health challenges and at the age 68 she passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Aunspaugh. She is survived by two sons, Lewis Aunspaugh of Moro and Justin Aunspaugh of Brinkley; daughter Amanda Wooten and her husband Elvis of Brinkley; Five grandchildren, Kevin and Crystall Aunspaugh, Eric, Hunter, Brook and Paisley Wooten; Two great Grandchildren, Addison & David Busby; Brothers, Jimmy Braswell of Brinkley, John May & Wife Sandra of Wynne; Sisters, Louise Harris & husband Rodger of Marianna, Kaye Pitts & husband Daniel of Brinkley, and a host of nieces and nephews.
