Barbara Blue

Barbara Blue (Johnson), passed away at her home in Loris, SC on Sunday March 1, 2026. Barbara was born on May 26, 1948 in Washington DC. She's the daughter of the late Dr. Fritz Norton Johnson of Mullins, SC and Meta Wheeler Sass of Charleston, SC. Barbara is the oldersister to Cherry Herndon of Durham, NC and Richard Johnson of Marion, SC. She was active in the Girl Scouts growing up and with her three daughters. Teacher's Aide for a few years in her son's classes. Active member for over thirty years in the DAR, with the BlueSavannah and the first Chapter Regent when Blue Savannah-Swamp Fox merged together. She attended Loris Church of Christ, which their members were great friends for her, along with Kayla, my mother's home health caregiver kept her as independent as possible to be able to liveout her days in her own home and community. Which we are very thankful for all the care andattention given to her. She is the mother of four children: Tonjia B. Elrod, Charles C. Birch Jr., Kauliani A. Vaughn and Leilani E. Birch. Grandmother of Harlie Hazel, Tyler Lamb, Jon-Erick and Ryan Christensen,Samantha Skelton and Eden Birch. Recently became a great grandmother to Maizie Wren.A private service will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in her name to Loris Church of Christ.
