Barbara Cerni – Johnson, a spirited and loving soul, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025 at the age of 73. Known for her generous heart, infectious sass, and undeniable pizzazz, Barbara brought color, warmth, and laughter to all who knew her.
Barbara had a deep love for the simple joys in life — dancing to her favorite tunes, cooking meals that brought family and friends together, and shopping for just the right thing (or two). She had a flair for decorating that turned every holiday into a celebration, with her home always reflecting the season’s spirit.
But it was the sight of a cardinal that truly lit up Barbara’s face. She adored birds — especially cardinals — often saying they were little messengers of love from above. Just like them, she brought beauty and brightness wherever she went.
Barbara was a woman whose generosity knew no bounds. Whether it was offering a warm meal, a listening ear, or her time and resources, she gave freely and without hesitation. Her kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, and her selfless spirit left a lasting impact on those she touched. Barbara believed in lifting others up, and through countless quiet acts of giving, she changed lives. Her legacy is one of compassion, grace, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. She never cared about having wealth, or a super career. What she wanted, always, was to give. That was her joy. Whether it was a buying you a burger and a beer, something from the Clinique counter, or a candle you liked when you walked in her house. If you liked it... it was now yours.
Those who knew Barbara will remember her sass, her sparkle, and her ability to speak her mind with warmth and wit. Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and vibrant memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
