Barbara's Obituary

Barbara Ellen (Myers) Goza, 84, of Huntington, Texas, formerly of Blanchard, died, Thursday, January 22, 2026, at her home.  Barbara was born in Blanchard, Oklahoma on February 22, 1941, to Orie Jefferson and Bertha Ellen (Mahurin) Myers.

While she was predominantly raised in Blanchard, she started first grade in Tahlequah.  She traveled throughout the United States as a military wife and an avid attendee of church conferences.   She was an Okie by birth but a Texan by choice, adopting east Texas as home for most of her life.

Devoted to God she depended on Him throughout her life.   It was common to hear her say, “I’ve just got to give it to God and leave it in His hands.”  It was more than a motto or creed; it was her daily assurance of His hand of protection and provision over her life.  She played the piano by ear and loved to sing with family and friends.  She wrote several songs including her daughter’s favorite, “Have You Ever Heard About Noah?” Barbara also loved to be surrounded by plants and flowers.

She was a wife, a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.  Married to Marion Allen McCleskey, Sr. for seventeen years, she became widowed in 1977 and then was married to Thurman Lee Goza for thirty-one years before being widowed for a second time in 2015.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one sister, Helen Bernice Selby; and one brother, Winifred Dale Myers.

She is survived by her children:  Ronda Orchard of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Marion Allen McCleskey, Jr. of Mountain View, Hawaii, James Lee McCleskey of Norman, Oklahoma and Catherine Elaine McCleskey Perez and husband Theodore of Huntington, Texas; five grandchildren, Diana Harris and husband Eric, Jennifer Orchard, Pamela Williams and husband Wade Lee, Bryan Richardson and Meagan Dossey, Crystal Chamblee and husband Ray; three great grandchildren, Alice Harris, Frank Harris and Cooper Chamblee; and many other loved ones and friends.

The family would like the thank Heart to Heart Hospice for all their love and care they gave to our mom. Especially her nurses, Jeri and Tiffaney, and her aide, Moesha, who gave the love and attention in her last days. We cannot thank you enough.

Viewing for family and friends will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 2, 2026, until service time.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
