Rahway – Mrs. Barbara Kopik, 94, died Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. Mrs. Kopik was born in Kuzmino, Austria- Hungary Region and came to the United States when she was five years old. Barbara lived in Newark and resided in Rahway for the past nine years. Mrs. Kopik was a Home Care Worker, taking care of the elderly for many years. She also helped to translate for many friends from Ukrainian to English. She was interested in Herbal Medicine, enjoyed driving and loved sewing her own clothes.
Mrs. Kopik is predeceased by her late husband, Charles Kopik, two sons, Charles Jr. and Alexander. She is survived by a nephew, Fr. John G. Birch and her care givers Natalie and Vera.
Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, April 20th, 2017, 11:00 am from the Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home, 275 West Milton Avenue, Rahway, NJ 07065 followed by a 11:30 Funeral Service at St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, 211 Grand Avenue, Rahway, NJ 07065. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Clark. Visitation also on Thursday, April 20th from 9-11 am at the funeral home.
