Barbara Menning Leschber

I was so saddened to hear of Barbara’s passing. We were out of the country just returned yesterday and my dad told me of her passing. She was one of my favorite teachers; I loved her infectious smile and her love for life. One of my favorite memories of her was when she & Shirley Manning took our Parliamentary Procedures team (through VOE) to nationals in Chicago. What a trip! SO many laughs and great memories made! I took VOE classes at Taylor High with Mrs. Leschber. She taught us so many things that I still use today. How to fold a letter and insert it into an envelope so it opens correctly when received. How to use a 10 key adding machine. How to properly shake someone’s hand. “A firm handshake. Give them something to hold on to. Not a wet wash rag.” I still hear this when I shake hands with someone - especially a man. I regret never reaching out and letting her know how much I appreciate these...

Barbara was always very welcoming to all who attended our summer Career & Technology conferences as our Executive Director of Texas Business & Technology Educators Association. She was invaluable to us and our organization for many years. Prayers for her family, and thanks for sharing her love with us.

My deepest condolences to Ivan and his family. Barbara was my favorite teacher in high school, typing class. She always had a big smile on her face making you want to come to class and never a dull moment. She was kind enough to help me get a job after high school for which I’m thankful
She will be missed soo much by everyone who new her.
