Barbara Lewis Moore

Barbara Lewis Moore, a devoted educator, faithful church servant, and beloved member of the Deweyville Community, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, at the age of 85. A native and lifelong resident of Terrebonne Parish. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer M. Brown (Augustus Brown III), Cynthia M. Billiot and step-daughter, Willette M. Tarvins (Alaska). Sisters-in-law Bobbie Jean Robinson and Betty Jean Moore. Grandchildren Rickey Bradley, Kayli Moore, LaTronce Moore, Ushay Poole, JeVonni Thompson, JeVion Thompson, Indya Harris, Travis Neville, and Trace Neville, great-grandchildren Rickey Bradley III (Lorelei Bradley), Kylie Ross, LeiRiah Bradley, Ryland Bradley, LaTronce Moore, Jr., Xalane’ Moore, Layonna Reed, I’Zeyah Bradley, Hendrix Poole, Makayis Thompson, JeVonni Jr., Kaiser Watts, Kinsley Watts, and Braylon Harris, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence T. Lewis and Hannah R. Lewis; husband, James Douglas Moore; maternal grandparents Arthur and Charlotte Stovall Ringold; paternal grandparents Julia O. Johnson and Theodore Lewis; son Tommy L.Waldrup, Jr.; daughter April L. Moore; grandchild A’Ja Gerielle Brown; sisters Gracie L.Verrett and Felton L.Taylor; brothers-in-law Bishop Arthur V. Verrett, Jr. and Chester Moore. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, December 06, 2025 at Plymouth Rock Baptist Church, 1000 Wallis St. Houma, LA 70360 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment following in Deweyville Cemetery, Houma LA
